Design a Disney Story Workshop

Third graders enjoyed an amazing field trip to Disneyland CA Adventure to participate in the Design a Disney Story workshop. Students expanded their knowledge as writers by learning about the role of different characters in stories, such as the hero, villain, companion, and fool. They were also introduced to the animation pipeline to learn about how to create a story and about the process of animation. After learning about animation, students created two early forms of animation: a kineograph and a thaumatrope, and they engaged in a Disney drawing lesson. Students synthesized their learning by creating a story board and pitching a movie to our Disney program leaders. It was wonderful to see the students so engaged in their learning and having such a terrific time working together in the process!
